
Lotus temple is one of the most beautiful places in Delhi. It attracts tourist by its high quality architectures and beauty. It is place to pray and meditation for all community or religion people in Delhi.
Architecture: It is constructed by the inspiration of the structure of Lotus flower. The architecture of this temple is made by an Iranian architect Fariborz Sahba, who now lives in Canada. He takes 10 years for its construction and management. Approximately 800 engineers' team contributes in this amazing building construction and it has inaugurated in December 1986.
Lotus temple is made by white marble with nine doors. It looks as upper part of lotus float at nine surrounding pounds. Lotus temple is 40 meters in heights and its ponds are covered in 26 acres area. Its one time strength is 2,600 people.
Main Contribution: Lotus temple land is bought with the help of Ardishir Rustampur, who belongs to Hyderabad. He contributes his entire life saving in this land purchasing. This temple is made by Bahai House of Worship and several people made contribution for this temple.
Location: It is a very recent architectural marvel of the Bahai faith, located in Kalkaji, south of Delhi. It is just behind the kalkaji Temple.
How to reach: you can reach lotus temple easily by auto, bus or by your own vehicle. Lotus Temple is near to Nehru place. If you are at Sarai Kale Khan Bus Stand( Nizamuddin Railway Station), you can hire auto or taxi or you can go by bus(Bus No.492) for Nehru Place Bus Stand and from there you can hire Rickshaw for lotus temple.
Visitors: According to the records, approximately 4 millions peoples come every year to visit lotus temple. It is near to Taj Mahal and other world famous buildings.
