Delhi Metro Phase-I Delhi Mass Rapid Transit System (DMRTS) is implemented by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in India capital. It is the result of equal participation of GOI and GNCTD. They make DMRC in May 1995 and first phase metro proposal passed on 17th Sep. 1996. First Phase metro proposal was 65.05 K.m. long and divided in three lines. These three lines are as follows.
Delhi Metro-Line No.1
The first line of phase-1 metro is Shahdara -Rithala with 18 metro stations. It is 22.06 K.M. long; 4.5 K.M. on Grade and 17.56 K.M. on Elevation. This line was completed in three parts, first was Shahdara-Tis Hazari section and it has been completed and commissioned on 24.12.2002. Second section was Tis Hazari- Inderlok section and it has been commissioned on 3.10.2003 and third or last section was Inderlok - Rithala, it has been commissioned on 31.3.2004.
Delhi Metro Line No.2
The second line of phase-1 metro is Vishwavidyalaya- Central Secretariat with 10 Metro Stations. It is 10.84 K.M. long under ground and completed in two sections; first section is Vishwavidyalaya to Kashmere Gate and second is Kashmere Gate to Central Secretariat. All stations are made underground and well planed with good facilities.
Delhi Metro Line No.3
Third and last line of phase-1 metro is one of the longest lines in metro construction. It has total 31 metro stations and this line is constructed in three sections; two sections were extensions of this third line. First section was constructed from Barakhamba Road to Dwarka; second were Dwarka to Dwarka-VI and last section was Barakhamba Road to Indraprastha. First phase has been completed 100% and DMRC spend Rs. 10571 Crore on first phase completion.
